| The stud was formed in 1970 with the purchase of the chestnut yearling Great Remus by Greatheart out of Jhabani. He was mostly crabbet and old english bloodlines. He was a seglawi jedran strain.
Next came Debora by the ilustrious stallion Dargeel. She produced our first home bred filly Tajak in 1973. Then Johara by Iridos out of Rifilla, a rare Krush strain. She bred us several good colts and a special filly Indian Farina which I exported to the Sultan of Oman in 1980. Johara won the Champion ridden mare at the Nationals in 1978.
These two mares were the foundation stock of Lapworth Arabian Stud.
During the past 35 years we have bred not only pure and part breds but also palominos which have gained us numerous awards. Probably the best known ridden gelding would be Abu Haroun who has won the Nationals twice under saddle and Twice in hand as well as winning the young riders as well. He also won the veteran gelding in hand at the age of 19.
He is now an advanced endurance horse and still competing at 22.
Tantavitch, the studs russian pure bred stallion has excelled in endurance as well as dressage, winning the Royal Show under saddle at the age of 5 and primarily coming 2nd at the Nationals in the yearling colt class at Kempton Park.
The stud has just 4 mares now, and a couple of youngstock for sale.
Najatah who started her show career as a yearling and won many county shows is now an advanced endurance horse. She will join the broodmare gang this year.
Princess Crystifa has bred three foals so far all of which have been show and two are now starting in endurance. She herself had an illustrious show career both in hand and under saddle and is now an advanced endurance horse.
Silver Dakoura needs no introduction with her band of 7 foals 6 of which are fillies. As well as producing some top show fillies she has to her credit Winter Melody an advanced endurance mare as well as the AHS Premium.
Marina di Caronia will join the breeding regime next year if not sold beforehand. She is by Tantavitch out of Silver Dakoura.
This years foal Rocco L.A will be shown next year if not sold.
